MAL's BACK!
Hi folks!
Boy it's good to be back in print, even if it's only digital print! And I'd like to thank each and everyone of you who stood by me or thought of thinking about me during two very difficult years. The tragic divorce, the weight gain, the hospital stay, the surgery mishap, the firing, the arrest, the breakdown, the second hospital stay, the court order, the second arrest, the tanning accident, the third hospital stay, wow! But all those are behind me now! Boni and I have been thrilled by all of your letters and emails during my rough times. As soon as I can I'll start to read some of them.
It's another terrific year for movie lovers, and it's only just beginning to be halfway through! And you can depend on me to provide great reviews of all the big ones, good or bad. And in closing, just let me say that I'm so proud to live in a nation and a country that has an amendment declaring that I can do what I do!
I'll see you at the movies! Maybe!
Mal Valour (Pronounced "val-OOR") has been reviewing movies since he was a boy, when he started the Weekly Blurb on his school's mimeograph machine and sold it for a nickel. After a brief college career, Mal embarked on his legendary career as movie reviewer for the Chicagoland Weekly Shopper News "On the Town" section. Gaining notoriety for his upbeat style, Mal became a star on the syndicated 30-Second Movie Minute radio spot series and as substitute of Minneapolis' Cable 6 show Movie Matinee. As a TV host, Mal was free to join his colleagues at swank TV junkets and movie premieres across the country, always looking for that perfect blurb that would catch the eye of Hollywood promoters.
After a painful departure from Cable 6, Mal moved to the internet and began the Weekly Blurb web site, gathering international fame at Your Dependable Hollywood Quote Whore. After his bitter divorce a light nervous breakdown followed, forcing Mal into semi-retirement But now Mal's back, and better than ever, and ready to deliver the kind of reviews you'll want to read every week!
Mal lives in Southern California with his Personal Assistant and girlfriend, former shopping network star Debi DeBoni.
